Shot on Sony RX100/vii after a rainy morning. When the streets are wet the light with an overcast sky is beautiful. Also I've been watching Ripley on Netflix, a must see for photographers and am inspired by the black and white cinematography. These are bracketed shots, purposely oversaturated in post and then converted to black and white. I love the back alleys and the street art in the Beltline area where my studio is located. But with the summer in the air, I'm bound to wander farther afield. .
First visit this year to this hidden wildlife reserve near High River, Alberta. A wide variety of birds use the area as a nesting ground. It was an overcast day when I was there and began to rain, but I still managed a few nice captures. Shot with Canon EOS R7 and Sigma 100-600 mm lens.
A second trip to Frank Lake. It's less flooded now and I saw and photographed a wide variety of birds including Western Grebe, Greater Scaup, Eared Grebe, Wilson's Phalarope, Black-crowned Night Heron, Cinnamon TBlack-necked stilt, Spotted sandpiper, Arctic Tern, Canada Geese, American Coots, American Avocets and Amer
This beautiful hidden treasure of Calgary's Parks makes for interesting photography. I was looking for insects, mainly bees and butterflies as targets for my macro lens and flash set up. The colors in the flowers are amazing. This day it was just before noon during the Calgary Stampede and the noise from the grounds was loud. But there were very few visitors to the gardens, always helpful for photography. All of these photos are available as prints.
